Our Week {2015: 29/52}

{twilight fun in the garden: Jamie silhouetted against the sky; Jamie's gun... I abhor guns but Jamie only had to see a toy gun once... and since she has been known to build her own lego guns... apparently this type of play is quite normal +  an essential part of development...but still I do not like guns + will certainly not encourage it.}

{we spent a beautiful morning at the zoo this weekend. PS their mouths are full of bubble-gum in the last photos... a first time for them!}

  1. SO cute! You find such fun adventures for the kids, they will have a lifetime of great memories... Bubble gum, I can remember my first time as a kid eating bubble gum and them promptly swallowing it lol

  3. Love their vests - how fun to get out to the zoo! Fear not about the toy guns, as long as you don't encourage it it's a phase that will pass.

  4. I hail from a generation that played cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, detectives, army - and in rural West Virginia where squirrel and deer hunting is almost expected (keeps the deer population down which helps reduce auto accidents from deer crossing highways, and saves crops). That said, I don't do guns, nor do my siblings even though my younger brother inherited some from my father and grandfather. It is a phase I think nearly every child goes through and I think as long as you handle it calmly and with guidance, is one that does not foster future violence. As with everything in parenting - it is a balancing act.

    happy week! xx

    1. water guns are harmless fun... but I do hate even bringing that type of symbol into our home... so it is difficult... I have seen some water squirters... and yes, chewing gum is not something we have at home either... x
